Our clients purchased this apartment several years ago. It was in good condition and had been used as such while they carefully considered how to give it more character, a more optimized layout, and an aesthetic that reflected their personalities. Their deliberations led them to contact us. Coming from lovers of architecture and design, this was already a wonderful compliment !
What followed was a series of steps : from the initial sketch to the final draft and consultation with contractors. Together, we planned, detailed, designed, and decided to make this apartment the result you see before you. The story isn't over yet, as Justine, the project manager, has joined the clients in Miami to redesign their winter quarters !
But let's get back to Paris. The layout of the apartment has been preserved: a large living room, a kitchen, and two bedrooms. But a few details make all the difference: the kitchen has been opened up to let in natural light. The sleeping area has been transformed and streamlined to create two separate suites, just like in a hotel. A laundry room has been created in the space that has been gained.
The kitchen opens onto the main hallway. It is slightly separated from it by a unit consisting of storage space at the bottom and a glass panel. The continuity of the parquet flooring creates visual harmony. Let's take a closer look at the materials. We wanted to keep things simple, using noble and timeless materials. Here, luxury lies in the consistency of the materials, shapes, and colors. The kitchen cabinet fronts are made of Charleston brown-stained oak, laid in a herringbone pattern to make the light dance. The countertops and backsplashes are made of Taj Mahal marble.
The master bedroom is also finished in stained oak. The large walk-in closet conceals a pivot door that leads to the hidden bathroom. The materials are elegant and chic without being ostentatious.
As always, we are committed to preserving the architectural details that define Parisian interiors. This apartment was rich with existing features - cornices, mouldings, hardwood floors. In any interior architecture project in Paris, it’s essential to understand these codes and work with skilled artisans to restore them. Wood, plaster, glass - this apartment showcases them all with finesse.
The master suite also features stained oak cabinetry. The walk-in closet cleverly hides a pivot door leading to the bathroom. As in the rest of the apartment, the materials are refined and elegant - never showy.
Let's bring your space to life.
